Mary Randlett's letter to Jeanne Engerman and other correspondence with the Washington State Library, 1991 March 11 bulk 1967-1969.

This is a letter Mary Randlett sent to Jeanne Engerman on 11 March 1991. Jeanne Engerman, later known as Jeanne Crisp, was the librarian of the Washington/Northwest Room of the Washington State Library (WSL) in Olympia, WA. Mary Randlett sent a letter to Ms. Engerman about a memorial for Nancy Blankenship Pryor. Ms. Pryor had been the chief librarian of the Washington/Northwest Room for 15 years. Ms. Randlett states that there had been discussion about the memorial for Ms. Pryor but that she felt that it "must be done and now." She suggests two memorials: one that people contribute to for ongoing purchases for the library; another memorial in the form of a non-monetary award that would be given "to those who have given of their energies forces which have given enrichment to those here in the Pacific Northwest. ... They have given far beyond what they have given and achieved within the frame work of their own work." The collection also contains a flyer for Mary Randlett's exhibition at the Governor's Gallery, June 1991. The other correspondence is between 1967-1969 regarding purchasing some of the photograph's Ms. Randlett has taken of Washington authors and artists. It includes the carbon copy of the response from the WSL librarians.
